Reel People by Reel Ads — Creator Terms & Conditions

By registering as a creator on Reel People, you ("the Creator") agree to the following terms.

1. About the Platform

Reel People is a two-sided marketplace operated by Reel Ads that connects verified human UGC video creators with brands seeking original content. We manage matching, deal flow, content delivery, and monthly payouts.

2. Eligibility & Registration

• You must be 18 years of age or older and a South African resident to register as a creator.

• You must provide accurate personal information, including a valid South African ID number, during onboarding.

• You must upload at least one sample video and optionally provide links to past work (social profiles or cloud storage) for review.

• Your account will be set to Pending Verification until our team approves your profile. You will not be visible to brands or matched to any brief until approval is granted.

3. Verification Process

• Our admin team will review your sample video, submitted work links, and SA ID number within 48 hours of submission.

• Approval or rejection will be communicated to you by email. A reason will be provided if your application is rejected.

• No artificially rendered creators (including voice) will be accepted.

• Providing false identity information is grounds for immediate permanent removal from the platform and may be reported to relevant authorities.

4. Creator Profile

• Your profile tags (content categories, style, audience) must be selected from the platform's predefined lists. These tags are used by the matching algorithm to connect you with relevant briefs.

• You are responsible for keeping your availability status up to date.

• Your name, social handles, and personal contact details are never disclosed to brands except for when delivery of physical products is required.

5. Matching & Deal Acceptance

• When you are matched to a brand brief, you will be notified by email and in-app notification.

• You have a set window (as configured by the platform, usually 24 hours) to accept or decline the match.

• If you do not respond within the window, the match will automatically pass to the next creator and you will be flagged as inactive on that deal.

• Repeated non-responses (where you neither accept nor decline) will be flagged for admin review and may result in your deprioritisation in the matching queue or suspension of your account.

• You may decline a match without penalty, but habitual declines may affect your matching priority.

6. Content Production

• Upon accepting a deal, you will have access to the full brand brief and the approved AI-generated script.

• You must produce and upload your video and supply the link to the Brand. Only fully accessible file storage solutions will be accepted.

• You may add notes for the brand reviewer when submitting.

• You are entitled to two rounds of revisions per video. If the brand requests a revision, you will receive structured feedback and must resubmit within a reasonable timeframe.

• Content submitted must match the brief, script, and any product or asset details provided.

7. Content Ownership & Licence

• You retain copyright in the raw footage you create. However, by submitting content through the platform and accepting payment, you grant the brand a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use the approved content for the purposes specified in their brief.

• You warrant that your submitted content is original, does not infringe any third-party rights (including music, locations, or other people's likeness used without consent), and complies with applicable South African law.

• Reel People may use anonymised platform data for service improvement. We will not publicly attribute your content to your name without your consent.

8. Earnings & Payouts

• The standard creator payout is subject to change at platform discretion — current rates are always visible in your earnings dashboard).

• Payouts are processed in a monthly batch cycle. Earnings from deals approved during a calendar month will be paid out in the following month's cycle.

• Payouts are made to your registered South African bank account. You are responsible for providing accurate banking details and for any applicable tax obligations on income received.

• Failure to provide correct banking details will remove liability from Reel People and you will be responsible for misattributed funds.

• You will be able to view pending and confirmed earnings, deal history, and completion stats in your earnings dashboard.

9. Platform Trust Rules

• All communication with brands must take place through the platform only. Sharing or soliciting contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, or external URLs) in any message or free-text field is strictly prohibited.

• You must never attempt to arrange payment, delivery, or any part of a deal outside of the platform.

• Violation of these trust rules will result in immediate suspension, forfeiture of any pending earnings, and possible permanent removal from the platform.

10. Ratings & Reputation

• Brands may submit a star rating after each completed deal.

• Ratings are used internally by the matching algorithm only and are not displayed to you or to brands on the platform.

• Consistently low ratings may affect your matching priority over time.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• Submit AI-generated, stock, or third-party video content as your own

• Use deepfake technology or misrepresent your identity

• Create content that is defamatory, misleading, unlawful, or harmful

• Share or distribute brand briefs, scripts, or product information outside of the platform

12. Account Suspension & Termination

Reel People reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any creator account for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, repeated inactivity, or conduct detrimental to the platform or its brands. Pending earnings at the time of termination for cause may be forfeited.

13. Limitation of Liability

Reel People is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability in any matter is limited to the payout value of the specific deal in question.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
